Background:
Bishop Sutton is a small village in the heart of the beautiful Chew Valley, 10 miles southeast of Bristol and 10 miles southwest of Bath. It has a link with the village of Verne-sur-Seiche and has a small number of village facilities including a large village hall, primary school and pre-school providers. School dates back to 1842 and was originally a school for pupils' up to the age of 14. At one time it was a Church school but no longer has this status. The building today consists of the original Victorian school and three detached classrooms. The original building houses two classrooms and the school kitchen. The schoolhouse has been opened up for school use and now provides office space, a staff room and a food technology base. The school has recently been extended to provide a superb new hall and library. At the end of the field there is a conservation area with a pond and a variety of trees, plants and shrubs.
